Napoli draw 1-1 with Barcelona for narrow advantage in Europa League

2nd-leg match to be played on Feb. 24 in Naples' Diego Armando Maradona Stadium

ANKARA (AA) - Napoli secured a narrow advantage over Barcelona on Thursday after earning a 1-1 draw in the first leg of the Europa League knockout round play-off.

Piotr Zielinski gave visitors a 1-0 lead with a powerful shot on the rebound in the box after his first attempt was denied by Ter Stegen in the 29th minute.

In the second half, Ferran Torres levelled from the penalty spot at Nou Camp but in the rest of the match, Barcelona failed to score and could not gain the first-leg advantage.

The second-leg match will be held on Feb. 24 in Naples' Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
