NBA leaders Warriors beat Nets, Curry scores 37 points

Golden State Warriors' superstar Curry makes 9 three-pointers, becomes 2nd player to reach 2,900 career three-pointers

ANKARA (AA) - The NBA Western Conference leaders Golden State Warriors beat the Brooklyn Nets 117-99 in a Tuesday game as Warriors' superstar Stephen Curry made nine three-pointers to reach a regular-season milestone.

One of the sharpshooters in the NBA, Curry became the second player to surpass 2,900 regular-season three-pointers, joining a former star, Ray Allen.

In his career, Curry has made 2,908 three-pointers to approach Allen.

The all-time leader in this category is 46-year-old Allen as the former Boston Celtics and Miami Heat shooting guard made 2,973 three-pointers in 18 years.

The 2008 and 2013 NBA champion, Allen retired in 2016.

In a Tuesday game against the Nets in Brooklyn, Curry scored 37 points to be the top scorer of the match.

Warriors' small forward Andrew Wiggins scored 19 points at Barclays Center.

The Nets' shooting guard James Harden racked up 24 points.

Meanwhile, one of the main pillars of the Nets, Kevin Durant bagged season-low 19 points.

The Warriors are staying on top of the West standings with 12 wins and two losses.

In the meantime, the Nets are in the third position in the East, having a 10-5 win/loss record.
