Olympique Marseille to take on leaders Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1's Le Classique derby

Olympique Marseille will take on leaders Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in the French Ligue 1's Le Classique derby at the Stade Velodrome on Sunday.

Marseille's young Argentine midfielder Valentin Carboni, who suffers from a cruciate ligament tear, along with Cameroonian forward Faris Moumbagna, who has a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, will be unable to play in the derby. French full-back Quentin Merlin, who suffers from a dead leg, is also doubtful.

On the other hand, Portuguese forward Goncalo Ramos, who has an ankle injury and French defender Lucas Hernandez, who suffers from a cruciate ligament tear, are the major absentees in the Parisians.

Reigning champions PSG won the last Ligue 1 meeting between the two sides with 2-0 on March 31.

PSG's Spanish head coach Luis Enrique, who clinched a "famous treble" (winning the domestic league, domestic cup and European trophy in the same season) with Barcelona in 2014-15 season led the Parisians to the French Ligue 1 title last season.

Former Brighton & Hove Albion manager Roberto De Zerbi has put on a good display with Olympique Marseille at his maiden season with the French side so far.

PSG are at the top spot of standings with 20 points, while Olympique Marseille are ranked third with 17 points.
