Israeli forces raid Balata refugee camp in Nablus early Wednesday

NABLUS, Palestine (AA) – A Palestinian youth died of wounds he sustained from Israeli army fire in the occupied West Bank on Wednesday, according to the Health Ministry.

Ahmad Abu Jneid, 21, was critically injured early Wednesday after being shot in the head by Israeli forces during a military raid in Balata refugee camp in Nablus city and later succumbed to his injured, the ministry said in a statement.

Israeli forces surrounded a house inside the camp during the raid amid clashes with local residents, according to eyewitnesses.

The Israeli army frequently carries out wide-ranging arrest campaigns across the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians.
