JAKARTA, Indonesia (AA) – The Philippines will start relaxing travel restrictions for some foreigners starting Friday.
The decision only applies to long-term visa holders, according to presidential spokesman Harry Roque.
“Tourists are still not allowed, unless with exemption. Currently, we are only allowing investors, workers, and foreigners with Filipino spouses and children,” he said.
All arriving foreigners will be subject to health protocols set by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.
They must have pre-booked accommodation for at least six nights in an accredited quarantine hotel or facility.
They will undergo COVID-19 testing at the quarantine hotel or facility on the sixth day from the date of their arrival.
The country has so far reported over 557,000 infections, with around 11,830 deaths.
