PSG star Mbappe injured in training ahead of Real Madrid clash

ANKARA (AA) - Paris Saint-Germain's French star Kylian Mbappe faced a foot injury in the runup to this week's Real Madrid clash in the UEFA Champions League, the French powerhouse said on Monday.

"Kylian Mbappe received a knock on his right foot in training today. He has undergone treatment this afternoon. The medical tests are reassuring and another update will be made in 24h," a PSG statement said.

Mbappe, 23, a PSG forward since 2017, has scored 24 goals and made 17 assists in 34 appearances for his club this season.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner's contract at PSG is set to expire at the end of June.

PSG also said that Spanish defender Sergio Ramos, who is a former Real Madrid captain, will go on his personal training.

"Sergio Ramos will train on his own until the end of the week," the French team said.

Ramos' compatriot Ander Herrera is also training "on his own and carries on his treatment for conjunctivitis."

Paris Saint-Germain will visit Real Madrid in the Champions League Round of 16 second leg at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium on Wednesday.

PSG won the first leg 1-0 at Paris' Parc des Princes as Mbappe scored the winning goal in injury time in the second half.
