PSG strike Olympique Marseille in Le Classique, Inter pursue flawless run in Italy

Paris Saint-Germain beat Marseille 4-0 at home, leaders Inter Milan beat Empoli 1-0 to take 5 wins in a row

Paris Saint-Germain hammered rivals Olympique Marseille 4-0 in Sunday's Le Classique in the French league, while leaders Inter Milan carried on their perfect run in Italy after they won at Empoli.

Home team PSG's Moroccan right-back Achraf Hakimi scored the opener in the first 10 minutes, curling a freekick.

Paris' French star Kylian Mbappe left the pitch at Parc des Princes as he suffered from an ankle injury.

PSG forward Randal Kolo Muani doubled the lead before the break.

Goncalo Ramos, who replaced Mbappe, scored a brace to name the result as PSG won Le Classique 4-0 to return to the top three spots in the French Ligue 1.

Brest, who beat Olympique Lyon 1-0 on Saturday, are leading the French league with 13 points. Nice are second with 12 points after they won against Monaco 1-0 on Friday.

Third-place PSG increased their points to 11 to chase Nice.

Monaco have 11 points to be fourth in the standings.


- Inter win 5 from 5 in Italian league

Leaders Inter Milan on Sunday defeated Empoli 1-0 to go on their perfect run in the Italian Serie A.

Italian left-back Federico Dimarco's left-footed stunner gave a fifth-straight win to Inter.

Simone Inzaghi's men are atop of the Italian league with 15 points.

Archrivals AC Milan are in the second spot with 12 points after a 1-0 win against Verona on Saturday.

Lecce have 11 points to be third, while Juventus and Fiorentina both are one point behind.

One of the title contenders, Juventus were stunned by Sassuolo 4-2 on Saturday.


- Atletico Madrid secure derby win over Real Madrid

Atletico Madrid beat Real Madrid 3-1 in a Sunday derby, giving the Whites their first defeat of the season.

Alvaro Morata, a former Real Madrid forward, scored twice in the fourth and 46th minutes, while his French teammate Antoine Griezmann produced another goal in the 18th minute for Atletico Madrid at Wanda Metropolitano.

Real Madrid's only goal came from Toni Kroos in the 35th minute.

The away loss left Real Madrid third in the Spanish La Liga table as the Whites have 15 points in six matches.

Diego Simeone's side rose to the fifth spot as Atletico Madrid are five points behind Real Madrid.

Barcelona are leading La Liga on goal average.

Barca came back against Celta Vigo 3-2 at home. Celta Vigo were on a 2-0 lead after goals from Jorgen Strand Larsen and Tasos Douvikas. However, Barcelona spoiled Celta's party after the goals scored by Robert Lewandowski (2) and Joao Cancelo in the final nine minutes of the match.

Barcelona have 16 points to top La Liga but second-place Girona have the same points, and they are looking for a mistake of the leaders.


- Man City win 6 games in a row to stay on top

Leaders Manchester City beat Nottingham Forest 2-0 Saturday to win six straight matches in the English Premier League.

First-half goals led the Sky Blues to a home win as Phil Foden and Erling Haaland put the ball into the Nottingham Forest net at Etihad Stadium.

In the 46th minute, Manchester City were down to 10 men after Rodri was shown a straight red card for an aggressive conduct on Morgan Gibbs-White.

Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday drew 2-2 with Arsenal in a London derby at Emirates Stadium. Spurs South Korean star Son Heung-min scored twice against Arsenal.

Liverpool beat West Ham United 3-1 on Sunday to be in the second position with 16 points. The Reds are two points behind Man City.

Brighton are third with 15 points.

Tottenham and Arsenal have 14 points each to be after Brighton.

In the next fixture, Liverpool on Saturday will visit Tottenham in London, a critical game for both sides and the higher ranks of the league.

Sunday also saw goals galore in a Premier League match as Newcastle United beat Sheffield United 8-0.

Sean Longstaff, Dan Burn, Sven Botman, Callum Wilson, Anthony Gordon, Miguel Almiron, Bruno Guimaraes, and Alexander Isak were the scorers. The Magpies earned their biggest away victory in the club's history.


- Bayern Munich hammer Bochum 7-0, Kane scores hat trick

Bayern Munich on Saturday hammered Bochum as Harry Kane scored a hat trick in a 7-0 win on matchday five of the German Bundesliga.

Bayern are on top of the league with 13 points.

They are not alone in leading the standings, as Bayer Leverkusen are chasing Bayern after they beat Heidenheim 4-1 on Sunday at BayArena.

Nigerian forward Victor Boniface scored a double for the victors.

On Saturday, Borussia Dortmund beat Wolfsburg 1-0 at home.

Stuttgart, RB Leipzig and Hoffenheim have 12 points each to be placed below Bayer Leverkusen.

Dortmund are sixth with 11 points, and they are able to be in higher ranks in the next fixture.

Bayern will visit Leipzig on Saturday after Dortmund will face Hoffenheim in a Friday away match.
