Real Madrid salvage 1 point with late goal in derby

ANKARA (AA) - Real Madrid salvaged a point against the leaders Atletico Madrid with Karim Benzema's equalizer in Madrid derby on Sunday.

Luis Suarez scored the opener in the 15th minute for the home side at Metropolitano Stadium.

Benzema's equalizer came in the 88th minute and the game ended 1-1.

Atletico Madrid still lead La Liga with 59 points with a game in hand three points ahead of Barcelona, while Real Madrid have 54 points to be in third place.
