By Dmitri Chirciu
MOSCOW (AA) - Russia plans to provide lessons to high school students on operating and countering unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
The Ministry of Education has drafted a decision on military preparedness training in schools.
According to the draft included in the Federal Legal Regulations System, students will be informed about basic elements of military preparedness within the framework of the course titled "Foundations of the homeland's security and defense."
Additionally, it is planned to provide education to students on UAV use as part of the curriculum, including “gaining an understanding of the ways in which UAVs can be used in combat” as well as learning “the algorithm to counter enemy drones.”
The government is expected to approve the draft decision.
President Vladimir Putin expressed support for the idea of providing UAV training in schools during a meeting in April with representatives of UAV manufacturers.
