South Korean ambassador visits Anadolu Agency headquarters

ANKARA (AA) – South Korea's ambassador to Turkey on Thursday paid a visit to Anadolu Agency's headquarters in the capital Ankara.

Lee Won Ik was welcomed by Serdar Karagoz, the agency's director general, and Yusuf Ozhan, the deputy director general and editor-in-chief.

Karagoz said South Korea and Turkey should improve bilateral relations and Anadolu Agency is promoting this aim.

"Turkish and Korean nations love each other as two countries do not have any tension," Karagoz said.

Karagoz said Turkey should make more news about South Korea and its culture.

"Turkey and South Korea can create a positive agenda as world political agenda is currently very bad," he noted.

"We should improve friendship between the two countries and create more projects to improve bilateral relations," Karagoz added.

Ik, for his part, said Turkey and South Korea are good partners and should increase cooperation between Korean and Turkish companies.

Turkey and South Korea have "very special" relations based on the sacrifice made by Turkish people during the Korean war, Ik noted.

Korean war veterans in Turkey are a very important heritage for two countries, the envoy said.
