Timberwolves sign French center Rudy Gobert

ANKARA (AA) - The Minnesota Timberwolves acquired 7-1 center Rudy Gobert on Wednesday.

"The Minnesota Timberwolves today announced the team has acquired center Rudy Gobert from the Utah Jazz in exchange for guards Patrick Beverley, Malik Beasley and forward Jarred Vanderbilt, along with guard Leandro Bolmaro, the draft rights to center Walker Kessler and Minnesota’s 2023, 2025, 2027 and 2029 first round picks and a 2026 first round pick swap," the team said in a statement.

Gobert, 30, played for the Jazz from 2013-2022 after leaving Cholet Basket in France.

The three-time NBA All-Star averaged 15.6 points and 14.7 rebounds in 66 games for the Jazz last season.

Gobert played for France at the 2016 and 2020 Olympics and guided the Les Bleus to a silver medal in Tokyo 2020.
