Tottenham hammer Man City 4-0 to end English champions' 52-match unbeaten streak

Tottenham Hotspur thrashed Manchester City 4-0 in a Saturday English Premier League match at the Etihad Stadium to end the English champions' record 52-game unbeaten streak at home.

Spurs' English star James Maddison scored double in the first half as Tottenham were on a 2-0 lead to upset the Man City crowd.

In the 52nd minute, the London club's Spanish full-back Pedro Porro was in the box to unleash a first-time effort that beat Man City goalkeeper Ederson. Tottenham made it 3-0 before the hour mark.

In the rest of the time, home team Man City took risks as they were seeking a goal.

But in the injury time the visitors scored their fourth goal. Tottenham's German forward Timo Werner intercepted Man City midfielder Jack Grealish's pass to the right flank. Werner dribbled into the box to find Brennan Johnson at the far post. The Spurs' Welsh forward slid to score an empty goal.

So Maddison-led Tottenham secured a historic 4-0 win at Manchester City.

Spurs increased their points to 19 to move to the sixth spot in the Premier League table led by Liverpool, which are on 28 points and have a game in hand.

Second-place Manchester City have been in crisis as Pep Guardiola's men were handed their third loss in a row in the domestic league. Man City have 23 points in 12 matches.

Liverpool will visit Southampton on Sunday. Southampton have four points to be in the last place.

In their next fixture in the Premier League, Man City will play a critical away game against leaders Liverpool on Dec. 1, which will be a "To be, or not to be match" for Guardiola's team.

- Arsenal beat Nottingham Forest to end their winless run

In another match of the day, Arsenal beat Nottingham Forest 3-0 to end their four-match winless run in the Premier League.

Bukayo Saka, Thomas Partey, and Ethan Nwaneri scored for the Gunners at London's Emirates Stadium.

On Oct. 5, Arsenal beat underdogs Southampton 3-1 in London, but then they lost at Bournemouth 2-0 and Newcastle United 1-0, and drew with Liverpool 2-2 at the Emirates Stadium. On. Nov. 10, Arsenal took a 1-1 draw in a derby at Chelsea before the international break.

Arsenal and their city rivals Chelsea have 22 points each to be in the top four.

Brighton have also 22 points to be in the fifth place.

Earlier, visitors Chelsea beat Leicester City 2-1 at the King Power Stadium.

The Blues' Nicolas Jackson and Enzo Fernandez were on the scoresheet. Jordan Ayew scored a late penalty for Leicester City, which was a consolation goal for the hosts.

Leicester City are 16th with 10 points.
