ANKARA (AA) - Stefanos Tsitsipas in men's singles and Iga Swiatek in women's singles on Friday both advanced to round 4 in the Australian Open 2023.
World no. 3 Tsitsipas of Greece bested Dutch player Tallon Griekspoor with three straight sets of 6-2, 7-6 (7-5), 6-3 in Rod Laver Arena.
Tsitsipas will take on Italian Jannik Sinner in the 4th round game.
After eliminating Sinner last year in the quarterfinal round at Melbourne Park, the 24-year-old will have a rematch with the Italian.
"For sure I have a good memory from last year. I'm sure he's much better prepared this time," Tsitsipas said. "I hope I can deliver a good sort of level of game 'cause it was close last time. I think it was in three sets, yes, but it was close."
Stefanos Tsitsipas, three-time Australian Open semifinalist, has yet to achieve his maiden Grand Slam title in men's singles.
