Tunisia, Palestine, UAE report new COVID-19 fatalities
Total infections in Tunisia stand at 19,721, Palestine 51,607, UAE 96,529
ISTANBUL (AA) - The health authorities in Tunisia, Palestine and UAE reported new coronavirus infections and fatalities on Friday.
Tunisia's Health Ministry said in a statement that six more deaths and 1,308 new infections were recorded over the past 24 hours. The country's total infections stood at 19,721 as death toll reached 271.
In Palestine, the Health Ministry reported three more deaths and 545 infections in the past 24 hours. Palestine's tally of infections jumped to 51,607, including 379 deaths and 42,544 recoveries.
While in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), three deaths and 118 infections were reported in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry's statement. The statement added the tally in the UAE surged to 96,529, including 424 deaths and 86,871 recoveries.
Since starting in China in late December last year, the coronavirus pandemic has spread worldwide, claiming over 1.02 million lives in 188 countries and regions, and causing nearly 34.35 million infections, according to the latest figures from the US Johns Hopkins University.
