ISTANBUL (AA) - At least three people have been arrested over their suspected links to the PKK terror group in an operation based in Istanbul, a security source said Wednesday.
The anti-terror police units conducted simultaneous raids at five addresses in four districts of Istanbul which led to the arrest of the three suspects, said the source, who asked not to be named due to restrictions on speaking to the media.
The suspects, who were active in the rural structure of PKK terror group, had come to Istanbul, it added.
Many organizational documents were seized at the addresses where the suspects were staying.
In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the US and the EU -- has been responsible for the deaths of some 40,000 people, including women, children and infants.
