ANKARA (AA) - Turkey will compete against Luxembourg, Lithuania, and Faroe Islands in Group 1 of League C in the UEFA Nations League.
"All 55 UEFA member associations participate in the 2022/23 UEFA Nations League and are divided into four leagues based on the 2022/23 UEFA Nations League Access List.
"Leagues A, B, and C will all have 16 teams, which will each be drawn into groups of four for the league phase. The remaining seven teams in League D will be split into two groups, one of four and the other of three," according to the UEFA website.
The first matches will be played on June 2–8, 2022, while the final will be held on June 18, 2023.
This will be the third tournament organized by UEFA as the first tournament was won by Portugal in 2019 while the second trophy was bagged by France in 2021.
In the latest tournament this year, world champions France fell behind but rallied to beat Spain 2-1 in the UEFA Nations League final in Milan on Oct. 10.
