Turkish athletes achieve impressive milestone as they collect over 7,000 medals in 2023

Athletes crown their stellar performance with 2,453 gold, 2,600 silver, 2,365 bronze medals throughout this year

ANKARA (AA) – Turkish national athletes achieved an outstanding performance in 2023, as they secured a remarkable total of 7,418 medals in various international organizations throughout the year.

The impressive medal haul comprised 2,453 gold, 2,600 silver, and 2,365 bronze medals, proving the outstanding achievements of the athletes, according to information compiled by Anadolu with the Youth and Sports Ministry data.

- Kickboxers win most with 119 medals

Turkish kickboxers excelled on the international stage, securing 41 medals in the world championships and an impressive 119 medals in the European championships. In total, they amassed 1,091 medals in various other organizations.

They were followed by tennis players with 1081 medals, by wushu athletes with 567 medals, and by swimmers with 546 medals.
