Turkish central government debt stock totals $227B as of end-November
Figure rises 68.5% year-on-year, according to Treasury and Finance Ministry data

ISTANBUL (AA) – The Turkish central government’s gross debt stock totaled 6.57 trillion Turkish liras ($227 billion) at the end of November, according to official figures released on Wednesday.
The figure jumped 68.5% from a year earlier, data by the Treasury and Finance Ministry showed.
It includes the outstanding debt of public bodies, the Turkish Central Bank, private companies, and households.
Some 35% of the debt stock is denominated in Turkish liras, while the rest is in foreign currency.
While 3.08 trillion Turkish liras ($106.5 billion) of the debt was domestic, some 3.48 trillion Turkish liras ($120.3 billion) of it was external.
As of Nov. 30, the stock of Treasury receivables totaled 27.2 billion Turkish liras ($940 million), the data showed.
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was around 28.91 at the end of last month.
