BIST 100 index loses some 63 points on Wednesday versus Tuesday's close

ISTANBUL (AA) – The Turkish benchmark stock exchange closed on Wednesday at 7,662.85 points, down 0.82% from the previous close.

The index, which started the midweek at 7,717.18 points, lost 63.01 points from the last close.

Its lowest level was 7,614.72 during the day, while it topped 7,764.16 for the highest level.

During the day, 23 indexes gained value while 75 lost.

The total transaction volume reached 63 billion Turkish liras ($2.16 billion), while the overall value of the index was at 6.5 trillion Turkish liras ($224.1 billion).

The price of an ounce of gold was $2,048.65, while Brent crude oil sold for around $80.30 per barrel as of 6.05 p.m. local time (1505GMT).

The USD/TRY exchange rate was 29.1301 while the EUR/TRY rate was 31.9705 and the GBP/TRY rate was 36.9014.
