Turkish stock exchange up at open

ISTANBUL (AA) - The Turkish benchmark stock index opened Thursday at 10,320.02 points, up by 1.52% or 154.49 points from the previous close.

On Wednesday, the BIST 100 index rose by 1.14% to 10,165.52 points with a daily transaction volume of 89 billion liras ($2.76 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira (USD/TRY) exchange rate was 32.2655 as of 10.40 a.m. (0740GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 35.1490, while the GBP/TRY rate was 41.3160.

The price of one ounce of gold was $2,316.60, and the barrel price of Brent oil was around $82.05.
