Turkish swimmer Tolga Temiz bags gold in European Youth Summer Olympic Festival
16-year-old clocks 3:52.99 in boys' 400-meter freestyle, says Turkish Olympic Committee

ANKARA (AA) - Turkish swimmer Tolga Temiz won his nation's first gold medal Monday in the 2022 European Youth Summer Olympic Festival (EYOF) held in Banska Bystrica, Slovakia.
"Turkish swimmer Tolga Temiz clocked 3:52.99 in the boys' 400m freestyle to bag Türkiye's first gold medal at #BanskaBystrica2022 #EYOF," the Turkish Olympic Committee said on Twitter.
Italy's Filippo Bertoni was 0.03 seconds behind 16-year-old Temiz to bag silver in the boys 400-meter freestyle event.
Meanwhile, Arne Schubert of Germany came in third to take the bronze, clocking 3:54.21 in the final.
The 2022 EYOF started with the opening ceremony on July 24 and will end on July 30.
