ISTANBUL (AA) — Istanbul-based drone manufacturer Baykar announced Friday that one of its unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) successfully tested a Turkish-made Cakir cruise missile.

Baykar's chief technology officer Selcuk Bayraktar said on X that the munition, fired from an Akinci UAV, had hit its target exactly.

Turkish missile producer Roketsan unveiled the Cakir, which can be launched from the land, sea, and air, in 2022.

With a range of more than 150 kilometers (93 miles), the missile is designed to be launched from fixed and rotary-wing aircraft, assault drones, tactical land vehicles, and naval platforms.

Besides land, air, and marine targets, it can also target those in caves.
