Türkiye's Basaksehir face Fiorentina in tricky Conference League tie

Group A match at Istanbul's Basaksehir Fatih Terim Stadium will kick off at 1900GMT

ANKARA (AA) – Turkish football club Medipol Basaksehir will host Italy’s Fiorentina in a tough UEFA Europa Conference League fixture in Istanbul on Thursday.

Group A leaders Basaksehir have made a flying start to their European campaign, hammering Scottish side Hearts 4-0 in Edinburgh last week.

Fiorentina, on the other hand, were held to a 1-1 draw at home against Latvia’s RFS.

Basaksehir’s star summer signing Mesut Ozil remains a doubt for the game due to a lack of match practice.

The game at Istanbul’s Basaksehir Fatih Terim Stadium will kick off at 1900GMT.

Another Turkish team Demir Grup Sivasspor are also in action in the Europa Conference League tonight, eyeing a first win after last week’s 1-1 home draw with Czech Republic’s Slavia Prague.

Sivasspor’s Group G away game against Romania’s CFR Cluj will start at 1645GMT.

All teams in Group G – Sivasspor, Slavia Prague, CFR Cluj, and Kosovo’s Ballkani – have a point apiece.
