Türkiye's BIST 100 index closes Thursday with gains

Benchmark index hikes 78.99 points at daily close

Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended Thursday at 8,169.89 points, rising 0.98% from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 gained 78.99 points from Wednesday's close of 8,090.90.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 7 trillion Turkish liras ($232.1 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 87 billion liras ($2.88 billion).

The price of an ounce of gold was $2,021.85, while Brent crude oil sold for around $81.35 per barrel as of 6.16 p.m. local time (1516GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 30.2385, the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 32.9147, while the British pound traded at 38.5286 liras.
