Türkiye's BIST 100 index down at Thursday's close

Benchmark index drops 29.29 points at closing session

ISTANBUL (AA) - The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Thursday at 10,726.98 points, down 0.27% from the previous close.

The BIST 100 index, after starting the day at 10,856.73, lost 29.29 points from Wednesday's close.

The lowest point for the index was 10,684.04, while the daily high was 10,862.75.

During the day, 47 indexes gained in value, while 48 closed with losses.

The daily transaction volume reached 120.5 billion Turkish liras ($2.88 billion), while the overall value of the index was 9.94 trillion liras ($238.9 billion).

The USD/TRY exchange rate was 41.7245 as of 6.20 pm local time (1520GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 48.4510, and the British pound traded at 55.7860.

The price of an ounce of gold was $4,027.70, while the barrel price of Brent oil was $65.80.
