ISTANBUL (AA) - Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha reaffirmed her country’s appreciation for European support on Friday, following heated exchanges between President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US leaders, including President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance.

In statements on social media, Sybiha expressed gratitude to European allies, including the Netherlands, Estonia, Spain and Poland, underscoring that “Ukraine is not alone.”

“Good to speak with (Dutch Foreign Minister) Caspar Veldkamp. Grateful for the solidarity,” Sybiha wrote, while thanking his Polish counterpart, Radosław Sikorski, for “Poland’s strong and continued support.”

Following a conversation with Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna, he highlighted that they shared values of “freedom and dignity,” stating, “With friends like you, we know we are not alone.”

His remarks come amid escalating tensions between Ukraine and the US administration after Trump and Vance accused Zelenskyy of being ungrateful for American military and financial assistance in a more than 40-minute confrontation at the White House.

Zelenskyy has repeatedly urged Washington for continued support for Kyiv’s war effort against Russia, while the Trump administration has pushed for a reassessment of US aid to Ukraine.

The diplomatic exchanges underscore growing friction between Kyiv and Washington, even as Ukraine continues to rally European support.
