Ukrainian foreign minister begins maiden visit to Pakistan

Dmytro Kuleba received by Pakistani counterpart Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in capital Islamabad

KARACHI, Pakistan (AA) - Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba on Thursday arrived in Islamabad on a two-day official visit to Pakistan.

Kuleba, who is the first-ever Ukrainian foreign minister to visit Pakistan since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992, was received by his Pakistani counterpart Bilawal Bhutto Zardari upon his arrival at the Foreign Ministry, an official statement said.

The two planted a "tree of friendship," in the Foreign Ministry's garden.

Kuleba and Zardari will lead their counties' respective delegations in official talks.

The Ukrainian foreign minister will also meet Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
