Union Berlin top German Bundesliga after 2-1 win against Gladbach

ANKARA (AA) – Union Berlin on Sunday topped the German Bundesliga standings after a critical 2-1 win against Borussia Monchengladbach.
Swiss defender Nico Elvedi scored in the 33rd minute for Gladbach to draw the first blood at An der Alten Forsterei.
Union Berlin came back near the end of the match as German forward Kevin Behrens scored to level in the 79th minute.
Danilho Doekhi's winner by a header in the 97th minute sent Union Berlin back to the top of the Bundesliga standings.
Union Berlin have 26 points in 12 matches to lead the league.
Second-place Bayern Munich increased their points to 25 after hammering Mainz 6-2 on Saturday.
Freiburg are third with 24 points as they beat Schalke 2-0 on Sunday.
- Osimhen-led Napoli beat Sassuolo
Nigerian star Victor Osimhen scored a hat-trick as Italian leaders Napoli thrashed Sassuolo 4-0 on Saturday.
Napoli's Georgian winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia added one goal in the match.
Title contenders Atalanta beat Empoli 2-0 to be in the second spot.
Unbeaten leaders Napoli have 32 points in 12 matches. They were chased by Atalanta with 27 points.
Defending champions AC Milan lost to Torino 2-1 on Sunday to be in the third position with 26 points.
- PSG win Troyes battle 4-3 to lead French league
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) on Saturday took a 4-3 win against Troyes to go on their lead in the French Ligue 1.
Carlos Soler, Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe were the scorers for PSG in Paris.
Mama Balde scored two goals for Troyes. Visitors' Ante Palaversa netted in the 88th minute.
PSG, who are still unbeaten in the league, are on the top of the Ligue 1 with 35 points in 13 games.
The gap against the nearest opponents are five points as second-place Lens have 30.
Lens beat Toulouse 3-0 at home.
Third-place Rennes have 27 points.
- Arsenal hit Nottingham Forest 5-0 to go on their lead
Arsenal bagged an extravagant 5-0 win on Sunday against Nottingham Forest in London.
Gunners forward Reiss Nelson scored two goals at Emirates Stadium.
Gabriel Martinelli, Thomas Partey and Martin Odegaard were the other scorers for Arsenal.
The Gunners kept their lead in the league standings with 31 points in 12 matches, two points ahead of Manchester City.
Manchester City beat Leicester City 1-0 in a Saturday match at King Power Stadium in Leicester.
Belgian star Kevin De Bruyne scored the winning goal in the second half.
Tottenham Hotspur are third with 26 points.
- La Liga leaders Real Madrid take unexpected home draw
Real Madrid on Sunday got a shocking 1-1 home draw with Girona but the Whites are still leading the Spanish La Liga with 32 points in 12 matches.
Vinicius Junior scored in the 70th minute but Girona leveled the game 10 minutes later. Christian Stuani put the ball in the Real Madrid net from penalty as the points were shared at Madrid's Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
Real Madrid's German midfielder Toni Kroos was sent off in the injury time.
Barcelona are hot on Real Madrid's trail, beating Valencia 1-0 at Mestalla Stadium on Saturday. Polish star Robert Lewandowski scored the winning goal in the stoppage time.
Barca have 31 points. Third-place Atletico Madrid have 23 points in the standings.
