GAZA CITY, Palestine (AA) - Fourteen Palestinians, including at least one baby, were killed and many others got injured on Saturday in an Israeli army airstrike targeting homes in eastern Gaza City, Wafa news agency reported.
Israeli warplanes targeted three homes in the Al-Tuffah and Al-Shujaiya neighborhoods in Gaza City, resulting in the casualties including children and women, the agency said.
Witnesses told Anadolu that an Israeli warplane struck the home in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood when dozens of people were inside.
The Palestinian Civil Defense rescue teams removed the body of a baby and transferred dozens of injured victims to a hospital, the witnesses said, adding that volunteers continue to look for the injured under the rubble.
Israel has killed more than 37,000 Palestinians, most of them women and children, in Gaza since a cross-border offensive by Hamas on Oct. 7, 2023. While many more are injured, vast tracts of the territory lay in ruins amid a crippling blockade of food, clean water, and medicine.
