US factory orders rise more than expected

​​​​​​​ Factory orders in the US increased 8.2% month-on-month in May, exceeding expectations, the Commerce Department announced Thursday.

The expectation was an increase of 8.1%.

The May increase was the highest since July 2014.

Durable goods orders increased 16.4% in May, while non-durable goods orders rose 0.1%.

Factory orders declined 3.9% in April.​​​​​​​
