Vakifbank win Turkish derby against Fenerbahce in Volleyball Champions League
Vakifbank defeat Yellow Canaries 3-1 in first leg of semifinal match

ANKARA (AA) - Vakifbank defeated Fenerbahce Opet 3-1 on Thursday in the first leg of the Women's European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) Champions League semifinals.
Vakifbank won the match 25-21, 25-20, 22-25 and 25-18 at Vakifbank Sports Palace in Istanbul.
The second leg will be held April 6 at TVF Burhan Felek Sport Hall in Istanbul.
The Women's CEV Champions League, formerly known as CEV Champions Cup from 1960 to 2000, is the annual top competition for women's volleyball clubs in Europe.
One of the most successful teams in the history of European volleyball, Vakifbank has won four FIVB Volleyball Women's Club World Championship titles in 2013, 2017, 2018 and 2021 and four CEV Champions League titles in 2011, 2013, 2017 and 2018.
On the other hand, Fenerbahce Opet, has one FIVB Volleyball Women's Club World Championship title in 2010 and one CEV Champions League title in 2012.
