Video game developer EA Sports will remove Russia from FIFA 22

ANKARA (AA) - EA Sports said Wednesday it will remove all Russian clubs and its national team from its platforms to show support for Ukraine.

"In line with our partners at FIFA and UEFA, EA Sports has initiated processes to remove the Russian national team and all Russian clubs from EA Sports FIFA products including: FIFA 22, FIFA Mobile and FIFA Online.," the video game developer said in a statement on Twitter.

"We're also actively evaluating related changes to other areas of our games."

In addition to FIFA 22, Russian and Belarusian teams will be removed from NHL 22 in the coming weeks, said EA Sports NHL.

Russia has already been expelled from FIFA and UEFA competitions until further notice following its war against Ukraine.

Since the war began last Thursday, it has been met by outrage from the international community, with the EU, UK and US implementing a range of economic sanctions against Russia.
