Warholm wins Olympic gold in men's hurdles, breaking own world record
25-year-old Norwegian athlete Karsten Warholm runs 400-meter hurdles final in 45.94 seconds

ANKARA (AA) - Norwegian athlete Karsten Warholm won an Olympic gold medal in the Tokyo 2020 men's 400-meter hurdles on Tuesday, smashing his own world record.
Warholm, 25, set the record as he ran the 400-meter hurdles final in 45.94 seconds.
The previous world record in this category was 46.70 that Warholm had broken in July 2021 in Norway's capital Oslo.
In Tuesday's final, Rai Benjamin from the US earned silver with a time of 46.17.
Brazil's Alison dos Santos took bronze, ending the final in the third position with 46.72 seconds.
Meanwhile, Turkish athlete Yasmani Copello came sixth among eight finalists as he ran the event in 47.81 seconds.
