Warriors beat Pacers, Curry now 2 three pointers shy of NBA's all-time regular season record

ANKARA (AA) - Stephen Curry led the Golden State Warriors won against the Indiana Pacers 102-100 in a Monday NBA game as the 33-year-old playmaker is on the verge of beating former player Ray Allen's all-time regular season three-pointer record.

Curry scored 26 points against the Pacers in Indianapolis. More importantly, he hit five out of his 15 attempts to reach 2,972 made three-pointers.

Curry now needs just two 3-pointers to surpass Allen's record.

Former Boston Celtics and Miami Heat shooting guard Allen made 2,973 three pointers in 1,300 games to be the league's all-time regular season leader in 3-pointers made.

The 2008 and 2013 NBA champion, Allen, 46, retired in 2016.

In the next fixture, Golden State will visit the New York Knicks on Tuesday at Madison Square Garden as Curry is likely to beat this record in New York.

Indiana were leading the game 100-95 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse with 1:24 to go but Curry hit a three-pointer to narrow the gap to two points, 98-100.

In the final minute, Curry scored a driving layup to tie the game, 100-100.

The Warriors bagged a 102-100 victory after Kevon Looney hit a game-winning putback layup after an offensive rebound.

The Pacers' power forward Domantas Sabonis made a double-double with 30 points and 11 rebounds.

Sabonis was also the game's highest scorer.

The Golden State trio, Draymond Green, Andrew Wiggins and Kevon Looney were balanced in the offense.

Green and Wiggins scored 15 points each, and Looney added 14 points.

In the Pacers, Malcolm Brogdon scored 23 points and Caris LeVert racked up 19 points as well.

Western Conference leaders Warriors won 22 games but lose five others.

Indiana Pacers from Eastern Conference have 12-17 win/loss record to come 13th in standings.

The Denver Nuggets beat the Washington Wizards at their home Ball Arena by 113-107 as Serbian center Nikola Jokic missed a triple-double.

Jokic tallied 28 points, 19 rebounds and nine assists to be the key player for the Nuggets.

Denver point guard Monte Morris added 22 points.

The Wizards' Latvian small forward Davis Bertans led his team with 21 points.

Washington superstar Bradley Beal racked up a double-double.

Beal had 19 points and produced 10 assists.

Eighth in Western Conference, Denver bagged 14 wins, and took 13 losses this season.

Meanwhile, the Wizards are in the seventh spot with 15-13.
