Who did I meet in the elevator?

Dear Friends,

Last night I was in a hotel in Virginia. I went down for breakfast and there was hardly anyone there. Then a man in a suit came in, had his breakfast quickly and left. So I went to my room, got ready, got on the elevator and saw the same person. I asked which floor and he said one. His voice was microphonic. As a former radio host (AKRA FM), I asked him if he was a journalist. He said no, he was a politician.

Where from? He said he was a senator from the state of Indiana. I asked if he was a state senator. He said no, he was a US senator, his name was Mike Braun (there are only 100 senators in the US, two from each state)

I was surprised to meet the US senator in the elevator at the crack of dawn. I asked him to please support the earthquake of the century in Turkey. He said that in such major disasters we put politics and party aside and help.

He was in a hurry, but I thought I would ask him a few more questions while I had time. I asked him what he thought about the issue between Turkey and Armenia. He said that he did not know much about it. Then I said let me help you because I am doing my PhD in history. He said sure.I also told him that I have been a Democrat for 25 years and I was a provincial secretary for 4 years, but I am a conservative Democrat. Last week, when I watched a video of former President Trump and told my children that I will probably become a Republican, he said which speech was it? Trump said last week about the extreme leftists (democrats) "take your dirty hands off our children, there are only two genders, boys and girls" and I liked it very much.

I asked him if he was thinking of running for president. He said no, but he was running for governor (Trump's running mate Pence was governor of Indiana).

I said I wanted to keep in touch with you. He gave me his card. He said let's walk together to the car.

I said I like humble people. I saw you like that, I said thank you and please help Turkey in these very difficult days. Also, there is Ersal Özdemir, one of the richest people in your state, the owner of a football club, he is also of Turkish origin. I said.

The thing that attracted my attention the most was that a huge senator was staying in a modest 2 star hotel and moving alone without any protection.
