ISTANBUL (AA) — Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Matheus Cunha has been handed a two-game ban after admitting to acting inappropriately following the final whistle of a Premier League match.
"The forward was charged with misconduct and it was alleged that he acted in an improper manner after the final whistle," the Football Association (FA) said in a statement on Tuesday.
"He admitted the charge and the sanctions were subsequently imposed by an independent Regulatory Commission," it added.
FA stressed that full written reasons for this case will be published in due course.
Cunha was also fined £80,000 ($100,000) for ripping glasses off an Ipswich Town security guard during the Premier League clash on Dec. 14.
The Brazilian forward will miss the top-tier clash with Nottingham Forest at Molineux Stadium and the FA Cup tie away at Bristol City.
The 25-year-old scored 26 goals and 12 assists in 76 games for the Wolves.
They are 17th in the standings, having four wins and 11 defeats of their 19 Premier League matches.
